The Official Website of Ben Salter

Australian songwriter and performer

Next month sees me embark on a tour around Australia accompanied by Joe McKee, formerly of amazing Perth band Snowman. All the dates are there on the right! See? We’re gonna do some collaboration, and play practical jokes on each other and you know generally get up to mischief.

These are going to be my last shows in Australia for quite a while as in May I head off to the UK and Europe to play some shows and showcases, and try and write some songs with a bunch of different people. I am really excited about it – getting to do two of my favourite things. Plus I’ll get to see a bunch of friends who now live over there.

Anyway it’s nearly four o’clock in the morning so I should go to bed. It has been a productive evening.

Last free show in Melbourne for a while is this Wednesday at Kent Street at 9pm. Then The Gin Club hit town on the weekend, playing at Pure Pop Records in St Kilda on Friday night from 6 – 8 then at  The John Curtin Hotel on Lygon St on Saturday night with Texas Tea and The Nymphs. Bravo! Please come along Melbourne, once again it’s the last time you’re gonna get to see The Gin Club for a long time.

I hope you are all well.

Cricket has been the real winner

Hello all,

welcome to the year 2012. Megacorporations rule the planet and gangs of cybernetically enhanced super criminals terrorize the populace. Australia dominates India in the second day of the Sydney Test Match. And I play about a million shows over January and February – have a look there on the right.

I’d like to say thanks to everyone who supported me over 2011.  It was a very big year.. I released my debut solo album “The Cat” and moved down to Melbourne. I am really looking forward to all the opportunities that 2012 will bring. I feel very priveliged to have such great friends and fans and to get to do this music stuff as much as I do.

Anyway enough of that. I’m already working on some new songs which I’m gonna try out over the coming months and hopefully I’ll be heading off to Europe in May to try my hand over there. All in all 2012 is looking very exciting.

Ahem. Okay, as you were. Thanks!
